Love and Freindship.

Laura writes a series of letters to Marianne. Marianne is the daughter of a woman who once knew Laura’s mother. The letters begin with Laura’s childhood and move through her later travels. She describes the people she meets and the places she stays. Each letter continues the account without reply from the reader. The story stays within these written exchanges. Austen completed the work at age fourteen.
