What it's about

The Bābur-nāma is the autobiography of Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur, the Central Asian ruler who founded the Mughal dynasty in India. This English edition presents his own account of his turbulent life: the loss of his ancestral realm of Ferghana, his years of struggle and exile, his eventual conquests that carried him into Hindustan, and the establishment of the empire his descendants would expand. Interwoven with the campaigns are his observations of landscapes, peoples, animals, fruits and gardens, recorded with a naturalist's curiosity.
